Goulbourn Easter 2011 Junior and Australian F500 Titles
The Goulburn Speedway Club hosted the Australian Formula 500 Title and the NSW Junior Sedan Title over the Easter weekend with 44 cars and every State/Territory represented in the Formula 500 Division and 27 entries from the Juniors.
The Junior Sedan Title was run on the Saturday with local driver Kyle Grainger taking the win from Mitchell Duggan 3rd Liam Heaton.
The entries were low compared to previous years but the field was very competitive.
The Australian Formula 500 Title was run over two days (Good Friday and Easter Saturday) Racing was of a high standard and very few racing incidents.
The Title won by Liam Williams from Victoria who started off pole, 2nd Jye O’Keefe (Victoria) 3rd Dale Shilleto (Queensland) The 2012 Australian Title will be held at Lang Speedway
The talking point of the meeting was the number of ex- Australian Champions present;
Tony Pryor (’95,’96) Ben Mcleod ( ‘07) Lloyd Thorley ( ’81,’83) John Andersson (’74,’75,’77) Matt Brown (’05) Luke Dillon (’99,’00,’01,’03) Daniel Harding (’10), Brock Hallett (’09) Roy Urpeth (’90) Michael Pronger ( ’92, ’08) Bill Broadwood (’79) and Bobby Haag (’69).
Additionally, Graeme and Marion Baxter were made Life Members of Formula 500's Australia in recognition of their services to the division.
