Carnarvon Track Safety Grant Improvements
Carnarvon Speedway in Western Australia was awarded a QBE Risk Management Track Safety Grant in 2010/11 to assist in the rebuilding of their mesh track fencing.
Speedway Australia awarded QBE Risk Management Track Safety Grants to the value of $30,000 earlier in 2011 to assist in improving the professionalism of the sport and the development of safer speedways throughout Australia.
Consideration was given to track improvements such as safety fences, improving the safety of spectator areas, safety signage, flood lighting, installation of racing lights, upgrading fire safety equipment and other risk management improvements.
Speedway Australia will award QBE Risk Management Track Safety Grants again in 2011/12. More information regarding Speedway Australia financial grants is available in the 2011/12 Speedway Australia Handbook. Should you have further questions about the grants or the application process, please contact Risk Management Officer Shane Collins via riskmanagement@speedwayaustralia.net.au.
