QBE Risk Management Track Grants Increased Again For 2011/12
To assist in improving the professionalism of our sport and the development of safer Speedway venues across Australia, QBE in conjunction with the Speedway Australia Public Liability Insurance Scheme offer a limited number of Speedway Australia Insured Tracks to receive a financial grant.
Over the past several seasons, QBE has increased its commitment to the Risk Management Track Grant Scheme from $15,000 to $30,000.
In response to Speedway Australia’s continuing emphasis on safety and risk management, QBE has agreed to increase their commitment once again, offering $45,000 in grants for the scheme in 2011/12.
“Speedway Australia and QBE are driven to continue to help venues across the country in improving safety and facilities.” Said Speedway Australia Risk Management Officer Shane Collins.
“The fact that we can offer these grants to Speedway Australia venues is no doubt going to lead to a higher standard of facilities, which is great for the sport. QBE’s continual increased support is an indication that they are very excited with what Speedway Australia and venues around the country are striving to achieve.”
Consideration for a QBE Risk Management Track Grant is given to track improvements such as enhancing safety fences, improving the safety of spectator areas, lightning, safety signage and other risk management improvements.
More information about the grants, and examples of QBE Risk Management Track Grants awarded in 2010/11 can be found in the 2010/11 Speedway Handbook (page 27).
