A Speedway memorabilia auction was held at the conclusion of presentations.
As in previous years, a thirty-person National Speedway Induction Committee consisting of competitors, promoters, media members, historians and vintage association members was formed to determine the inductees for this year on behalf of Speedway Australia.
The initial task of the induction Committee was for each member to provide their own nominations for consideration. Based on the number of times candidates received nominations, a short list was formed consisting of individuals from 3 different areas;
- drivers from all divisions of car Speedway racing,
- owners, mechanics and manufacturers, and
- promoters and officials.
The induction committee was then asked to vote on a preferencial basis in each of the three categories to ensure all participants from within the sport are considered. Motorcycling Australia was responsible for the selection of solo and sidecar riders.
All money raised at the event will aid Paraquad SA's transitional housing program.
