Rising Stars Taking It To A New Level In 2012
2011 Speedway Australia Rising Stars Sam Putland and Daniel Harding will both take a giant leap forward in their racing careers in 2012 when they step into Sprintcars for the first time.
Both drivers have enjoyed consistent success in their open wheel categories, Putland in Lightning Sprints, Harding in the Formula 500 ranks.
Putland won 7 feature races in 2010/11, including the Victorian Lightning Sprint Title, while Daniel Harding won 8 feature races during a stretch that saw him qualify for 21 A Mains in 22 race meetings.
Shane Collins spoke with Sam about his new venture into 360 Sprintcars.
"This deal came about at a Lightning Sprint Presentation Day when Jason Rehn and Michelle La Vars suggested that in a years time they would support Putty Motorsport if we wanted to go 360 Sprintcar Racing," said Putland.
"From that point we put together a Sponsorship Proposal and gained expressions of interest from local businesses - we wanted to put together a team that was sponsored by local business. We approached Torrens Valley Electrical and they were happy to come on-board as major sponsors and we became Team TVE.
"Running this new car is very exciting and is something that I have been looking forward to for a very long time. Everytime you get laps, you are enjoying yourself!
"I'd like to send a really big thank you to Andrew and Lisa Tilley from TVE Electrical, Jason and Michelle from Chooks Custom Grafix and Barry and Ann-Marie Putland."
Harding Racing recently recently practised on Fast Friday at Perth Motorplex and is looking forward to debuting the new car on Boxing Day.

The 2011 Speedway Australia Rising Star Program assisted talented young drivers build toward their racing potential. In 2012 the program will continue to work closer with the best young speedway talent in the country.
The 2012 Speedway Australia Rising Stars will be announced early in the new year.
