Nick Cockerill Wins Junior Sedan Thriller
The tenth Speedway Sedans Australia, Australian Junior Sedan Title will be long remembered after a thrilling finish, in which Nick Cockerill won the A Main by a mere 0.125 at the Arunga Park Speedway, in Alice Springs.
Cockerill lunged underneath Corey Lincoln of Victoria on the last lap, as the pair ran side by side to the finish line, in a classic finish.
Queensland drivers Tim Smith and Will Muir would finish third and fourth respectively, while Johnny Terriaca of Western Australia would finish fifth.
It is the first time a Victorian driver in the ten year history of the race has won the event.
Earlier Jack Alfirevich and Jesse Arthur won through the C Main transfer spots, in an entertaining affair, while the B Main would see Michael Learoyd, Lachlan Reeves, Chris Bellman and Sam Roza transfer. The B Main was marred by a heavy crash involving Kye Walters who hit the fence very hard in the main straight. Walters of Victoria was unhurt.
The six preliminaries on the Championship Title night were won by Corey Lincoln, Patrick Brennan, Brooke Buckingham, Jordan Ferguson, Tim Smith and Jordan McDonald
