Southern 500 Speedway Club Track Upgrades
The Southern 500 Speedway Club in Victoria was the recipient of a Speedway Australia QBE Risk Management Track Grant in 2011. The club used the grant funding to assist in the installation of LED racing traffic lights.
The installation of the racing traffic lights has resulted in a wide range of safety and operational improvements for the track, including improved visibility of racing conditions for drivers, more reliable technology, less need for maintenance through modern technology and improved safety for crash crews and stewards.
Southern 500 Speedway Club’s Trevor Logan commented on the QBE Risk Management Track Grant.
“The comments we have received from drivers, pit crews and officials have been great, so it was certainly a worthy cause to improve safety and risk management and the development of a safer Speedway venue.”
“On behalf of the Southern 500 Speedway Club, thank you for the opportunity and allowing us to participate in the Speedway Australia QBE Risk Management Track Grant Scheme.”
