Speedway Australia Attends Speedway Victoria AGM
Speedway Australia General Manager Dale Gilson and Marketing and Communications Officer Warren King attended the Speedway Victoria AGM and Driver Presentation dinner in Warrnambool on Saturday July 21 2012.
At the AGM, several committee members were nominated and accepted, and ammendments were made to Speedway Victoria's Rules of Association in accordance with section 22(2) of the Associations Incorporation Act 1981 (Victoria).
Chris Olsson of the Victorian Formula 500 Association was re-elected as a Competitor Representative, and was joined by new appointment Kellie Atkins of the Victorian Modified Production Association.
Chris Olsson was also elected as Speedway Victoria Chairperson, replacing Mark Sheen (resigned).
Ann Golding (Hamilton Drivers Club) was elected as a Track/Club Representative, replacing Ron Petch (Rosedale Speedway, resigned).
At the conclusion of the AGM, Dale Gilson and Warren King participated in an open discussion forum and gave brief presentations to those in attendance about their roles with Speedway Australia.
The Speedway Victoria Driver Presentation Dinner was later held at the Gateway Motor Inn to acknowledge the best drivers in 5 state divisions, highlighted by Junior Sedan driver Dion Bellman. Dion took home first place in the Junior Sedan category as well as the overall Driver Championship - all on the day of his 15th birthday.
2012 Speedway Australia Rising Star Josh Fort also gave a brief presentation about his involvement in the program and the 3 Day Rising Star Camp at the Australian Institute of Sport.
