NASR Rising Star: Max Johnston
NASR is proud to announce the fifth participant to be selected for the 2011 NASR Rising Star Program, Max Johnston of Sydney, New South Wales.
Max has been associated with motorsport since the age of 7, competing successfully in tarmac Go Karts throughout Australia and winning multiple state titles. At the end of 2009, Max was ranked in the nation’s top 50 drivers at number 27.
Since his conversion to Speedway, Max has competed in 9 race meeting, piloting his 410 Sprintcar. Max has so far been able to win a heat race in Sydney and has qualified for 5 A-Main Feature Races.
While Max is blessed with natural talent, he is relatively new to the world of Speedway and would like to use his opportunity as a NASR Rising Star to build toward achieving his goal of becoming a professional racecar driver.
In 2011, The NASR Rising Star Program will give the opportunity for young drivers to improve themselves in a range of areas including fitness training, psychology and marketing and media training, which will assist them in formulating a pathway to achieve their speedway dream.
