Kevin Britten Smashes Lismore Track Record
NASR Rising Star Kevin Britten shattered the V8 Dirt Modified track record in Lismore Saturday night during the ‘Richmond Rumble’.
After finishing his 2 heats in 1st and 2nd place, Kevin entered the top 6 dash as joint points leader for the event. Kevin won the Top 6 Dash from 3rd position on the grid, earning himself an opportunity to gun for the track record on an empty track.
Mark Robinson, who recorded a lap time of 14.70 seconds, previously held the track record. Kevin shattered that time, clocking in at 12.902 seconds.
Kevin capitalized on his pole position in the Feature Race to lead the race for the first 20 laps before being forced to retire as a result of a collision.
Since being selected as a 2011 NASR Rising Star and visiting the AIS, Kevin has been focusing on his diet, hydration, stretching and muscle awareness to assist his development as a driver.
Kevin thanked his team and sponsors for their hard work behind the scenes.
“I would to thank Luke Armstrong of Auto Co Mechanical for being a valued member of the crew. Luke was a part of Peter’s crew before me and has become a valuable member of the team. I’d also like to thank my sponsors JBR Motorsport, Troyer Racecars and Sport Engines.”
Kevin will be competing this weekend at Rushworth Speedway in the V8 Dirt Modified Victorian State Title.
