Kyle Pollock
Name: Kyle Pollock
Resides: The Entrance North, NSW
Age: 18 years
Kyle Pollock of The Entrance North NSW has been selected as a 2012 Speedway Australia Rising Star.
A third generation Speedway competitor, Kyle hopes to follow in his family's footsteps; both of his grandfathers raced Speedcars at Sydney Showgrounds and Westmead Speedway, and his father is a former Australian Compact Speedcar Champion.
Kyle's Speedway career began in 2005 when he joined the NSW Speedway Kart Club in the rookie class. After several years of improvement and impressive results, Kyle captured the Junior Light Australian Speedway Kart Title in 2009, and was the overall NSW Speedway Kart Club's Junior Champion.
At the start of the 2010/11 season, Kyle graduated to the Wingless Sprintcar class, where he exceeded expectations by qualifying for the A Main at each race meeting he travelled to, and captured his first A Main Feature Race victory on January 25 2011.
A season ending rollover at Dubbo ended Kyle's season before he could compete at the NSW Wingless Sprintcar Championship, a missed opportunity he hopes to atone for in 2012.
Kyle would like to use what he learns during his time as a Speedway Australia Rising Star to gain the marketing skills necessary to attract large sponsors and maintain a competitive race team. Kyle would also like to use the exposure he receives during the program to benefit his racing career and to help him as an ambassador for Speedway.
