Carline Mufflers National Super Sedan Series

Since its inception in 2005, the National Super Sedan Series has been an overwhelming success, attracting big fields, large crowds and significant media exposure for competitors and participating sponsors.
As a joint venture between SSA/ASCF and Speedway Australia, the goal of NSSS was to introduce and develop a professionally managed series for Super Sedans into the National Speedway Calendar. The NSSS is currently overseen by an NSSS Management Committee consisting of promoters and competitors, and managed by Tony Parkinson.
The series has played a significant role in the growth of Super Sedan racing nationally. In 2007 Carline Mufflers identified the benefits of being associated with such a successful national competition, and became the naming rights sponsor for the NSSS’ third season (which Carline later extended for a further 2 years).
Super Sedans: The History
The Super Sedan is a vastly different machine when compared with its passenger car roots. The initial Super Sedan was based on an ordinary road vehicle, featuring a roll cage and whatever made the car go fast. From these humble beginnings, the Super Sedan has evolved into a sophisticated and powerful racing machine.
Today’s Super Sedans can be 4 Cylinder, 6 Cylinder, Rotary or V8 and are defined as chassis cars, with a fiberglass or aluminium bodies, representative of a sedan-type passenger car. Most cars are rear-wheel drive (four-wheel drive vehicles are prohibited).
