Online Application Guide
To assist you in submitting your online application, we’ve prepared a simple guide to the process below. If you have any further questions about the application process, or if you get stuck, simply contact Speedway Australia Head Office on (08) 8139 0777 during business hours for assistance.
Step 1: New Licence or Renewal?
If you have held a NASR/Speedway Australia licence in the last 3 years, you can choose to renew your licence, valid 12 months from the date your licence is processed (or the date of your current licence’s expiry, whichever is later).
You can access the system via this portal: http://www.speedwayaustralia.net.au/apply/
To renew, enter your given name, family name, date of birth and previous card number (as they appear on your previous licence) and click the blue Renew A NASR/Speedway Australia Licence button.
To submit a new application, simply click the green Apply For A New Speedway Australia Licence button.
Step 2: Enter Your Details
Enter the details as they are requested on the application web page. Required fields are marked with a red icon – you won’t be able to submit an application until you have completed these fields as a minimum.
You will also need to ensure you enter a valid email address that you have reliable access to – we won’t be able to process your application without it.
Step 3: Choose Your Licence Category and Racing Divisions
First, select if you are a driver, mechanic or official (or more than one, if applicable).
If you selected “Driver”, you’ll be able to choose up to 3 racing divisions that you compete in.
Simply select the division group (choose from National Divisions or the state you compete in).
Once selected, the next dropdown list will allow you to select your specific racing division, eg. AMCA Nationals, Sprintcars, 4 Cylinder Sedans.
Next, choose the “State” you compete in from the dropdown – this will help us to identify which club we’ll need to return your licence to.
Lastly, select the club you would like your licence returned to from the “Club” dropdown list.
You may also select up to 2 more optional relevant divisions.
If you selected “Mechanic” or “Official”, simply choose your state and club.
Please note Red Card applications are processed separately.
Step 4: Upload Your Photo
If you have a suitable photo of yourself on your computer you may upload an image to be used on your licence card. Simply click “Choose File…” and select the photo on your hard drive.
Click “Preview/Edit Image” to upload the file.
Providing an appropriate photo via the online system will save time in processing your application, but if you do not have a digital photo, you may post one in separately.
Once you’re happy with the details you’ve entered, click “Next” at the bottom of the screen.
Step 5: Complete The Health Statement
Just like paper application forms, a completed health statement is required to process your application. Complete your regular Doctor’s details (if applicable), and answer all of the questions below truthfully to the best of your knowledge before clicking “Next”.
Step 6: Medical and Proof of Age
If you are required to submit a medical and/or a proof of age, you will be notified of the conditions associated. Indicate you have read and understood these conditions before clicking "Next".
You will be provided with a link to download a medical form on the confirmation page and in your confirmation email after you have applied.
Step 7: Accept The Privacy Statement & Declaration
Read carefully and review the privacy statement and declaration before checking the box to indicate you are ready to proceed.
Step 8: Fast Track and Payment Method
If you require your licence to be fast tracked, simply click the appropriate check box. The $75 fast track fee will be automatically added to your licence cost.
When your total is correct, select your payment method from the dropdown box. The online licensing system accepts secure credit card payments directly, or you may post a cheque to Speedway Australia separately.
If paying by credit card, please enter your details exactly as they appear on your card. Once satisfied, click “Next”.
Step 9: Confirmation
If you have paid by credit card, you will receive a receipt number and a notification that your payment has been approved and your licence processing is underway. If you have opted to pay by cheque, you will simply be taken to the confirmation screen.
This screen will also advise you if you are required to submit any more supporting documentation to Speedway Australia before we can process your application (for example, your medical or proof of age).
You’ll also receive an email containing all of the information on this screen for your records.
Once Speedway Australia has received all of the required information, we’ll begin processing your licence application.
Step 10: Collect Your Licence
Once it has been processed, you may collect your licence card from the relevant association or club. We’ll email you and your club when we have processed your licence. Your association/club will validate your licence once you have obtained a valid club membership.
